Baking has always been a big part of my life—it’s how I relax, how I create, and how I connect with people.

I grew up in a home where the kitchen was the heart of everything. Life was busy and no one really had time to sit around in a formal way, but somehow everyone ended up in the kitchen. Cooking and baking were how we came together. My mother baked, and that’s really where it all started for me.

Over time, that turned into something much bigger. Baking became my creative outlet—a way to express myself. I love coming up with my own recipes and putting a personal spin on things, rather than sticking to a traditional family recipe book.

I also spent over a decade running my own tea rooms, baking every day. That experience taught me so much—not just about technique, but about what people really love. Simple, thoughtful baking can mean a lot, and I’ve seen first-hand how food brings people together.

I’m inspired by all sorts of things—vintage baking, different cultures, and especially other bakers who put real care and love into what they make. That idea of showing love through baking has always stayed with me.

For me, food is more than just something we need—it’s about family, connection, and storytelling. I have Irish roots, and baking is one way I feel connected to that, but I’m also really drawn to exploring flavours and traditions from around the world. I might not always travel, but baking lets me experience different places in its own way. I really believe that if you understand a country’s food, you start to understand its culture too.

This blog is where I share all of that—my recipes, my inspiration, and my love of baking.
